Brown Tool and Machine has finished a run of restrictor plates for use in 25XS Mercury motors running in 350ccMR. I sent him a drawing and a retrictor plate, which he duplicated. If anyone needs one, please contact Allen Brown.
Good morning Boss,
Nice to see more parts available,
Am I correct in thinking the Tech Manual rule change needed for this item will be on the list for changing at National Meeting?
When the "second generation'" of 25 XS motors were being built I was the supplier of the restrictor plate - I still have a box of the plates left- These are the same as the factory part -down to the gold tone alodine finish- I think the market demand is going to be very limited for this part-

Restrictor plates are used in the Stock and Mod categories mostly to either reduce power output such as the J classes that use A class engines or along with height and weight restrictions to allow different engines to be used in other classes. Off hand I think there are around 7 or 8 classes using plates. An example is the Y302. with plate changes this engine can run in 4 classes.
I wasn't specific enough. I understand the overall concept of using restrictor plates, but what other class(es) does (do) restricting a 25XS enable the engine to be used in?
As per the original posting the restrictor mentioned is for the 25xs in 350Mod. The 25 uses no plate in the stock class now. It's all in the class rules, both Stock and Mod Tech manuals have it all there.
