That is a good point however I am not sure that you can have too many warnings on the course. Say the rescue boat can turn one on. Even better to get the drivers attention and make them aware of an issue. Then they would also see the driver/boat with one on it.
I would never consider trying to make this a rule but I will most likely try it out. Having someone come at you at 100mph and having to debate what side of the boat to jump off is enough for me to give this a shot.
I would not attach this to my helmet because of the same reasons not to put a go-pro on it. I was thinking attached to the shoulder on my life jacket.
