[QUOTE=mercguy;n426394]j....even though I weigh in at close to 560lbs!! ...)

Daren; -were you running at 560#s at Whitney Pt. in 2013?

If so, and if you had run at 480#,
Newton says you would experience a 17% increase in straight line acceleration.
    Maybe worth ordering the 1/4#'r w/o cheese..eh?

Physics says that weight will affect acceleration more than max speed. To some extent, I think theory agrees with practice in this case. For speed, more weight will put more boat in the water, increase drag, and slow the boat down. However, the placement of the weight will have greater impact on the degree of slowing. It seems to me that the ROT, 10-lbs = 1-mph seems excessive, although it'll depend on the boat design and weight placement. As a bottom line, and as an independnet observer, I think that NOT changing the weight rule is the best plan. The Tohatsus will have more trouble making the weight, so they already have a built in disadvantage. No need to increase that disadvantage (IMO) Taking the cheese off the burgah and adding fresh tomato & onion is advised for all of us.
