In spite of the weather, FLRC outdid itself getting this race on....
FRI testing went well, with many on the water.
Cold/rainy on SAT so races put off 'til SUN.
Super 'pot luck' SAT nite, [thanx to Norma, et al]
SUN got going at 10, warming and then sunny, little wind,
so ran 2 heats for SAT, and one for SUN,
2 classes back to back, 3 flites of 4 classes, total of 12,
ie; 36 heats, and all over by 3:45 !
Not sure of the entrys, no elims, but 9 in CSH, and NINE in DSH
'hat-sus' do not dominate in NY, upstate at least !Last edited by bh/; 09-14-2014, 06:27 PM.Brian Hendrick, #66 F

Nice recap Brian....Although the three Tohatsu's in the nine boat field did not dominate, they did finish 1-2 (12A, 8A) on Saturday's two heat race and 2-3 (8A, 3N) for Sunday's one heat race.

Steve is correct, there was little to choose from in the Merc/Tohatsu battle. Good, close racing, with experienced drivers, and well prepared boats.
Lots of 'poppers' there too, as usual, runabouts and hydros, and more S-Ws , 15s and 20s than I have ever seen. That is a range in age of motors of 60 years, so hard to fault APBA on that issue. A 30" 4 cyl Merc mod was giving the Yamatos fits in CMH , until something? went awry.
The sound alone, leaving the pits, was worth the trip.

Was good to go to a race again - my first one since 2002. I may have to bring a boat next year!
