Live from the APBA Nationals - Sunday Check in

Well we have arrived at the check in. Blueskyracer has gone to take some photos of the boats and rigs in the line waiting at the staging area. If I heard correctly we are something like 48th in line to be escorted to the park to drop our trailer and get placed into our RV spot.

It is warm here to say the least, and there are no winds whatsoever at this time. Even a little breeze might make things a bit nicer for those waiting in trucks with race trailers and not in air conditioned motor homes.

Excited to be here and will post more as the day progresses.

From what we understand they emptied the park of all but essential personnel this morning, racers were sent to the staging area. We heard that #25-27 have now been taken to the park. So we have a while to wait but things seem to be proceeding in an orderly fashion. Not hearing any complaints from folks. Have seen a lot of "R" boats and just a few from other areas. Perhaps many aren't arriving until Monday.

So we are all checked in and in our camping spot. Someone had to spot our trailer for us because we were too long to do it. And, for the accomplishment of the day I drove the motorhome and backed it into it's parking spot.

Well the pits are starting to develop! Nice grass covered area which brings a little relief to the heat weary boaters. I am guessing there will be a lot more activity as the sun goes down and the temperatures drop a little. Here are a few shots of some of the competitors

and a few more... there are more boats and racers arriving almost constantly. SOA is doing a fantastic job managing the arrivals, my hat is off to them for the fantastic efforts in making this all run smoothly. I have the greatest confidence that they will continue to host an excellent event!

This am (Sunday) there were 21 ASR and 19 ASH pre registered.

If there is going to be a live feed, I would imagine a link will get posted Monday evening or Tuesday AM as that is when racing begins.
