  • Hydro on Ebay...............

Does anyone know what this is or who made it? Seller is in Illinois. Looks more like something from the 1970's to me. Note the "winglets" coming off of the transom and the sponsons. Item # 4585575751.

I don't have a clue who built the boat but it sure is unusual. Here are a couple of pics of the bottom. (If you want the pics oriented correctly you'll have to rotate them 90 degrees to the left. I had to rotate them to get this site to accept them. 640 X 480 is OK. 480 X 640 is not. )

My dad thinks that the boat is a Janz built in the early 60's

Janz was the first thing that came to my mind also. His were the only boats that I ever saw with the double sponsons in the front.

Many of the Outboard Tunnel boats that the R/C guys race use these "double sponsons" ( they call them "pads' ) to keep the nose of the boat up in the corners. Too much trouble and not enough fingers to go with the motor tilt like the F1 tunnels have!

              Janz

I'd agree...Bill Janz out of Chicago, Illinois????

Never drove one, but they seemed to corner very flat (and fast), as I recall!!
