The point of Mr Fits post here isn't about bickering over $200 bucks but rather the procedural aspects of allowing non- APBA club members to come to a National Event, compete and not join our organization! Again, we are a organization that is governed by racing rules and by-laws. Mr Fits is simply looking at the way our system is operating (or not operating).

Rules are the backbone of our sport. Without them racing would not exist and leave all of us cutting grass at home all weekend instead of spending thousands of dollars traveling to places like Louisana in March....

Got any snow up north yet!!!!!!!

Hey Dean usually the only way you can get a group of guys to look at the big picture is if it of a half naked woman and even them not all will look, just had to add some humor to this thread. ..... will be in Fl the week before testing the new AXSH boat and fresh built Merc motor ,more props for the BSH and AMH to test.

            Xracer is dead on.

We are in an organization that votes on policy and procedure.

What happened here is the Stock Chair took it upon himself to obtain a waiver of rules from the BOD without notifing any of the members or commissioners. He did this at the national meeting where there is plenty of opportunity to inform people of what his intentions were. We the members were not justly represented in this policy change.

We did not have discussion or voting. This to me is WRONG.

You need to ask is this now a precedent where someone in the position of chairman only needs to go to the BOD to get want he wants thereby cir***venting the entire memberships input.

The other items concerning membership and points structure and tech issues are matters that also need to be clarified so all competitors are assured they are fairly represented.

Kudos to Ed and Connie and everyone else who are part of planning a truly intriging race. Of course there are a few logistical differences to work out...
Let's work them out and then worry about the competition, especially SEH/FEH.
Come on down Richie Palmer. We've seen you run with ole Dave Mason. Let's see if you can out-run some of them Texas rattlers and Looosiana cotton mouths.
I hope to be there with my B runabout/ CSR , or what ever it is.

If we lose, then we can impeach Ed.

Lots of boats from "down south" to keep an eye on....

The Mississippi mauler - Racin' Ralph Cook is one to watch out for in SE/FE.

There's also Bushwhacker Burt coming out of Missouri you have to keep an eye on or he'll be showing you what the transom of a Giles hydro looks like.

Then there's Burnin' Vernon Barfield (from Oklahoma, but I believe now living in Kansas) driving a boat for an owner in Texas that gave Ralph a very good run for his money the last time they got in a race together.

There's Phelp's Big 6 Merc from Texas and some Yamahas from "up north" that have to be dealt with....

There's an unknown coming out of Louisiana that will be just getting started in the Super E hydro class next year with a brand new Arltralite hydro.

Plus more possible that aren't on this list.

There's half of a full field of hydros and 4 or 5 runabouts in the above list. Should be some great racing going on at Alex.

I was not talking about my class what so ever. I catch snakes with my bare hands

All of you are saying run what you brought???? This after the year Scott Cark’s 102 is the center of discussion. Deemed illegal and a speed advantage when a tool needs to be made just to measure the questioned area. Now we are going to allow totally different spec'd motors?? Consistency in laws is needed for the success of our governing body. Without proper litigation we are no better then a club. Some of us would love to see this sport become more then backyard racing.

Now I remember why we race NBRA. If this is the crap we are going to have put up with at this race.We will not be there.

                      Oh dear me . . .

Reading all the rants over who gets the points and who gets the money and who is or is not eligable to race made my tiny brain hurt.

Attention: Folks aren't standing in line to join any one of our racing organizations. Several races this season, and other seasons, had light attendance. Isn't it time to welcome an effort to combine various organizations and their members for at least ONE race? Who knows, we might even like each other, regardless of the racing organization logo letters on the boats. And we might even have fun! Not to mkention if this race is a roaring success the various organizations involved may use this experiance to blend together and form an awesome racer pool to support races.

Remember, it's all boat racing, and that's what we like to do. So quitcher*****ing and let's go racing!

Inspection stuff concerning mods (mainly C, D, E mod)

This is the way I see it. APBA sanctioned race - APBA tech (inspection) rules. You don't pass inspection, you're DQ'd.

I race 4 cylinder Mercs so the classes I race have made this simple for me in the past. However, I haven't kept up with APBA rules the last 10 years, but before that I subscribed to the Propellor mainly so that I could keep abreast of the rules. When I was keeping up with the rules, I always made sure that my motors were AOF and APBA legal (even though I've never made any APBA races) just in case. The formation of NBRA hasn't changed anything that I am aware of as far as motor rules are concerned for 30, 40, 44 inch Mercs. Weights are slightly different in some classes, but that is no big deal. Add some weight if you have to! I don't think that any rules have been passed that made modifications more restrictive than they were 10, 15, 20 years ago. My motors would pass inspection then and I think that they will now. Are 1:1 gear ratio Yamato hatchet lower units legal in APBA D mod? Is reshaping (thinning) the A/B/C Merc lower unit legal in APBA C mod on a Merc motor? < Those are the only questions I have about my motors.

There will be only ONE inspection manual in the inspection tent: It will read, APBA.

sheez, come on Art, there is nothing wrong with public discussion, even if it is ridiculous at times. If NBRA or AOF were as big as APBA is, you would have the same problems or issues. Put it all aside for this event and lets go racing! After all, that is what we all want to do...........
