I would lay a copy of this article on the desk of the current APBA president and ask him what did the largest powerboat racing sanctioning body in North America do to help prevent this from happening? I would also go back and ask the last four presidents before him.

My point is these local clubs and organizations are left to fend for them selfs while the so call largest sanctioning body in North America does nothing to cultivate the sport and help these small towns acquire corporate sponsorship. In my opinion this is a direct failure of the APBA and its ability to carry out its own core mission which is to support and promote powerboat racing in North America.

These poor folks at the local level are burned out and can no longer do this without front office backing and support.
