  • Ryan gets a letter

Ryan got a letter from the Laurel Lake Property Owners Association in Millville, NJ. It reads as follows:

    "Dear Mr. Runne

I am writing on behalf of the Laurel Lake Property Owners Association. It has come to our attention that during the racing events this weekend a collision occured between your boat and our dock. Upon reviewing the damage, the LLPOA has come to the conclusion that reimbersement is in order. We will be having the dock repaired in the next couple of days and forward you the bill. The estimate we recieved was approximatley 1500 dollars. The description of the damage is as follows:
The dock was lifted from its secured position and is now unsafe to walk on. The entire dock must be replaced.
Thank you. Our lawyer should be contacting you shortly.

    Sincerely,
    Bill Warren
    President, LLPOA"

It never seems to end for this kid.

You spelling it wrong. It's D-U-M-M-Y. Not dumby, dummy.

          ???

How can a race boat bust up a freaking dock? Everytime I've seen race boat strike a piling or bridge the result is a cloud of boat splinters and maybe a scuff on the strikee.

I didn't think that he had hit that dock hard enough to do that.

                          Oh yeah, real funny . . .

Care to contribute $1500 to the Ryan Dock fund and then maybe he'll be able to chuckle as well.

Well the way I see it he started out the season in florida blowing over and wrecking. And ended the season with a close encounter with a stationary object. Maybe we need to have Ryan speak to the saftey commitee in Fort Lauderdale. His personal experences could be helpful to them when they make the next set of rules up to keep us safer on the race course. John you need to design a runabout with inflateable Zodiac sides so when any of us get close to him, a bump would not be a problem and it might have saved him on this last incident. My vote is to keep him on the team. Have Grampa Runne give him some more pointers. Maybe a curfue. And writen permission from his parents allowing him to race. If he goofs up have his sisters give him **** in front of everyone. Owe ya make sure you get Ed Hearn as your attorney. I here he is good. Rates a little higher than some. But will keep you on the race coarse and out of jail or expensive lawsuits. Mike
