  • Bud Pinto

I just learned that Bud Pinto died today. He was out fishing, his second great pleasure in life. I have no other details at this time. Bud was a longtime member of Region 3 and the APBA and a strong competator in
C-Stock-Runabout, both locally and nationally. Everyone who knew Bud always enjoyed his humor, laugh and smile. And anyone who ever heard Bud's rendition of "It a Bad Time to Leave me Lucille" will never forget it.
!"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain."

      Bud Pinto

The best I can say is that Bud was doing what he enjoyed and with a friend, Ray Hastings. What more can you ask for from life!! We'll miss him!!

We will all miss Bud, especially here in Region3 I grew up watching him and always admired his work ethic for the sport, even when his knees prevented him from racing, he was helping set up for the day or helping somebody out in the pits everyone in the Breisacher family sends out their prayers for Bud's family

I'm very sorry to hear about Bud's passing. While I did not know him well, I knew of him from the many stories passed around from my father and my uncle. I will never forget Wakefield, MI when Bud won the Nationals in CSR. If I'm not mistaken, that may have been Bud's first title as it seemed he was elated by the victory. If you have the tape from that year's Nats ('86?), bring it out and watch Bud as he crosses the finish line like a true Champion......with his arm raised high into the sky. May you continue to replay that day Bud and watch over us....we will miss this legend of Stock Outboard racing.

              I remember

I remember two things about Bud Pinto: He used to sing "It's Hard to Be Humble When You're Perfect in Every Way" and he used to dance a MEAN polka with Liz Bowman.

              My deepest sympathy

I'll never forget picking Bud out of the water at Wakfield after he crashed. He would not get into the crash boat. He blew off his lightweight running pants hitting the water.

RIP Bud, you are up there with many good racers.

Racing Technology 101 Bud Pinto Instructor

As great as the stories Bud has told his racing technology has added in every way a whole new meaning to cut weight in CSR,from the 3000 holed cowlings of his C-Stock Merc to being i believe the first man to make the sides of his runabout air plane dope and cloth to soon realize at Denton that it was truely too light and definetly a quick to get wet experiment,oh and the green rubbermaid trash can cowling duct taped to the deck has over the years added to the design of much nicer lexan cowlings. Bud showed up at the inboard races in Mays landing a couple years ago and after not seeing him in a while was no doubt the same ole Bud Pinto a true lover of boat racing.
He was a neat person to have known and left fond memories to all of us.

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

True parity is one motor per class.

It's RACING, not just another boat ride!

                      A True Gentleman And Champion

I remember meeting Bud in 1981 when i lived in Swedesboro N.J. with Dave Rode and was building boats with the ( Hound) Ernie Fanslau and Bud came to the shop and had some great stories.
He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who was in need at a race and always had a great sense of humor that i will always remember. I remember testing on a creek down off the Deleware river and there was Bud working hard testing his CSR and going FAST.
I remember (86) Wakefield Nationals when Bud won CSR and what a sight to see all the people giving back that lending hand that Bud was always there to give. A proud day for a man who give so much to a sport he loved so much.
You will always be in my mind as a True Gentleman and Champion.

Rest in peace my Friend. Tim Sidor 35-M
