The Lake Racing Team debuted their new Tohatsu at the race this past weekend. Very impressive for the first time out. Kampen Racing and several others expressed interest and may be on the phone with Bass Machines this winter.

Sponsors were very pleased. Stay tuned for a bigger and better things next year. McAffees had their usual good day. We did well also.

            I recall...

I attended the very first NBRA Nat's that ever occured. I was trying for a Tri-fecta win. I won APBA Nat's. AOF Nat's and wanted to prove I was the champ in SEH (FEH). I got beat by the very best that year, he had his stuff together. I ran a solid second place. But I was happy because I got beat by someone who is not a hired driver, who does not buy everything they can find and then wonder why it never works. I was beat by a guy that did his homework better than I did. He deserved that victory, and I was proud to have run second place.

Dave, we have some excellent folks...some already on top of the game and others just figuring out how to get there. It's gratifying to see the sport growing again and be a part of a group that (that I know of) has no "hired drivers." Just a lot of hard-working people who love boats and racing.

As fast as those FEH's go I only have found a few drivers with balls big enough to squeeze it off all the way down the straightaway. I love to see you guys out doing battle. And I would bet that if someone came up to you and offered you to drive a quality rig it would be hard to turn that kind of an oppertunity down. So lets not be so hard on a hired driver. You never know you might be next one asked to drive one of those sweet running FEH's.
