This is/was my best DMR prop on a 44xs runabout at Big Rapids. I was the only legal boat in heat 2 when my borrowed motor and I went for this ride.

Nice to know the safty gear works, you should check it out from time to time.

I do now need a 44xs gear housing and still need a 55h gear housing. If you have any info give me a shout. Can do cash or trade.

      Details...

Details are hard to come by but I will say this...

Broken transom, broken skeg, DOA prop, Swiss Cheesed hulls, bent steering bar, broken pully, scratched helmet and I introduced myself to Scott for the first time in the water.

Racing is fun, parts can be bought, everyone was alright.

I was impressed with both party's respect for each other. No one was tossed for bearing away, no helmets were tossed, no foul language but my own when I felt the skeg was gone on the borrowed motor.

Stuff happens, racing should be fun.

On a side note a radio whould have saved this crash as I would have backed out and played it safe. I never would push to catch a boat I did not need to beat. They announced I was the only legal boat while going down the back stretch. Next year the 33m with have radios.

That broken skeg can definately be fixed, no problem.

Hopefully It was replaced! Because whoever attempted to fix it the first time should be hit over the head with a 2x4! Thankfully it broke the second time while testing and not during a race, and thankfully you didn't get hurt!
Lesson, If you break something like that goto a guy who has fixed RACING EQUIPMENT like that before! 66 G

I was thinking of installing CD players in my boats.
                    ...

OMC FE/SE powerhead parts for sale. Kurcz ported block, Mod 50 pistons and cylinder head, exhaust, etc.

Forget the CD player. Go with an I-pod mounted on the helmet.

                          Regards,
How about an 8 track and Quadraphonic?

I'm really not old enough to remember anything about quadraphonic systems. Dan told me about them!

                            Dave,

I had an old pioneer quad receiver or JVC I cannot recall, before I got into tube stuff these were great sounding pieces for vinyl playback - if you could keep the dust out of the pots (volume knobs) - Sorry I meant records not 8 track vinyl - LOL. Now it is all Solid State and 7 speakers and a subwoofer.

Someday I will replace my two-channel system for vinyl. Ted Abel has likely 100K worth of Vinyl from the 50-60-70's in his basement and I am talking about the prices back when he bought them.

                            Regards,

Yea -we purch a new one after the testing incident. And oddly enough, it seemed like someone did a tune up on my motor after we put it on. Seemed faster, straighter and more stable... Is that possible? +
Oh Yea, but then I passed Fred at Beloit ! Doh-ooh

Guess I gott a little overconfident???? Nothing like a good bodyslam to set things back in perspective, Hey?
