  • Extreme Marine TV is seeking show ideas...

Hello all...I'm new to this site but an active member on Scream & Fly as well as Offshoreonly .com

Osprey Production Group is currently producing a TV series called "Extreme Marine TV". We are searching for new ideas for the show.

We would like at least one of the shows to profile the "Juniors" that are involved and racing Hydro's and Runabout's.

If there is an event that you think we should cover, please feel free to let us know. Please include the location and date of your idea/event.

About 1 hr drive north of Pittsburgh.

Will should have a good group (hopefully 15-20 or more) of current J class racers, as well as a ton of former J class racers that have moved on to the bigger classes.

      USTS Raleigh Race

The US Title Series will be holding the Tarheel Regatta on October 15th and 16th on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, NC. We have some incredible kids that are best buddies off the course and fierce competitors on the course. The KPro Hydros will run about 55mph and the crowd loves them. I invite you to come down to Raleigh and see for yourself.

        Raleigh, North CAROLINA

The final US Title Series race of 2005 will include K PRO for drivers of age 10 - 16 and the fastest open cockpit outboard hydroplanes and runabouts in the country. The venue is outstanding and the elevations around the race course will offer superb camera angles. You can refer to the video link on the left side of the hydroracer home page for an example of the action thaT the USTS will provide.

          Raleigh

Raleigh is going to be a great race for KPROs. From talking to the others, I suspect there will be about 7+ of the fastest kids in the nation!! We are all very fierce competitors, and we always put on a great show no matter what!! I know the national champion is supposivly going to be there, so that will be a show to see if he can hold the rest of us off again; not likely , but I know I am looking forward to driving hard to beat him, and I know the rest of the KPRO drivers are also looking to do that, so I KNOW this is going to be a great race to watch kids driving hard and competitivly. Thanks for your time, and I know all of us are excited that you have chosen the jUnIoRs!!!

lets hear it for the future of "extream marine" on TV

This weekend coming up sept.17/18 in Jesup GA there will probably be a good turn out of J stock and K pro racers, HEY! Its no wonder why they want to put the young racers on TV I think those heats are the most exciting heats of the weekend ,these young drivers deserve to be promoted , we can only hope it will help bring our sport more energy to grow

              Thanks for the feedback!!

Thanks to everyone for the great feedback. We may be looking to the next season for shooting the J class unless we can find a Florida event this winter/spring.

I'd suggest a location that is central to several big clubs or usually has a high turn out of racers. Somewhere where that gives lots of notice so many people could attend. This is a great chance for some great exposure for a small sport like ours that has lots of growth potential.

I don't know what your scheduling is like, but I'd suggest Franklin PA in the spring (usually 3rd weekend in May I think). It gets a huge turnout, over 150 entries at times. It's in a great park with good camera angles from each end of the park I'd think. The lake is closed to public boats for the weekend and well protected from wind so the chance of having the race cancelled is very slim. It also gets many racers from Canada and is usually sanctioned by both the American Power Boat Association and the Canadian Boating Federation. Would show well as in multi state and international event. For the last two years it's also been on the Meals on Wheels Charity Race Series schedule. It schedules both Stock and Modified classes and the site has been the host of 2005 Modified Nationals, so you know it's a nice site.

                My 2 cents.
