  • Hey Daren

    Daren,

Here are a couple pics of my ramp, etc... I don't have your e-mail address here at work, so I figured I'd post the pics here.

The ramp works really well for me, many thanks to the man who helped me with the measurements for my ramp. I also spent a couple weeks moving the ramp, steering wheel, and throttle forward and back as well as raising and lowering those things up and down to see where they felt most comfortable. My back never hurts and I'm completely comfortable. I can't believe how great it is laydown. Its probably not for everyone, but I love it.

this past week-end was my first race using matt's laydown that my father bought and after using it i can't justify using my kneeldown because my lap times are so much faster. i can hold my speed through the turns, and turn just as well or better than anyone else. i also spun my boat this week-end and did not fall out. after running two 4ths on sunday and a 3rd and a 7th (because i spun the boat) on saturday in csh field of 10 with my 20ssh equipment i am sold on matt's laydown, but i do need to make the ramp i have more gradual since it's only 2' long

I understand the spinouts. I partially spun my boat twice. What I've found is that I have to price the boat more smoothly than my kneeldowns. My ramp is 4' long and 5.5" tall at the front and 6" wide. It works well for me.

What does "price the boat more smoothly" mean?

                    Richard,

The boat is my own design. I grew up driving conventional hydros and always like the look of them. When designing the boat I also wanted the nose to scoop as much air as possible, and I thought the design would do this for me. So far, the design is working out very well.

Tom is right, I bought the cowl from him at Whitney Point in 2004. The cowl is really nice and easy to work with. It is built with plenty of extra material so each individual can cut it any way they want. It also goes all the way to the deck and is easy to fit. Thanks Tom. I must also add that I had a great boat designer help me with the lift and the ramp. Thanks to those that helped me with my design. The boat works great, I just need to get the boat running a little faster down the straights, and I'll be in the hunt.
