Deseronto, Ontario, Canada, August, 27-28
Not sure why the powers involved haven't mentioned this race a bit on here... so here are a couple words I've heard.
It's part of the Meals on Wheels Charity Race Series
Title Sposnor of Series, BathFitter.com
I also believe it is a Memorial Race for racer Ron Collins who passed away this summer from Cancer.
The town has posters up everywhere and full page ads in local papers for area towns. The ads state there will be a beer tent, live bands both days, breakfast and dinner available.
- J, Stock and Mod classes (see circular)
- 25 miles west of Kingston, Ontario
- about 1 hour from from Crystal Lake, NY
- FREE camping (up to 6 per site) with electrical hookup for CBF and APBA card holders. Camping is at the pit area.
- Motels are in the town and nearby Belleville and Napanee
- Park setting some large trees for shade, grass launch and boat ramp launches.
- Event is right in the middle of the town... the town is super excited!
- They've asked to bring AS MANY noisy and loud motors as possible and we can start at 10am if we want. (We was the last time you heard that from a town?)
Anyway, I believe it is a site that was used many years ago and the town actually approached the club to come and race there again. Should be a great time for the whole family.
(Anyone needing any materials/supplies delivered to the race site from Fralick Boats, let rick@fralickboats.com know in advance if possible. If he doesn't have it there, the shop is just across the bridge from the race site, so it can be picked up easily in any case.)
