Ok, I am going to make a "general comment" on a couple issues that seem to be HOT TOPICS:
1) the number situation: this issue needs to be addressed either NOW or at the next Nat Meeting. The "rule" needs to be more specific and not allow any variables. What I am saying is that the rulle needs to be written out in the rulle book NOT allowing any variables, such as giving the final "say" to the scoring crew (nothing against them, as they are doing a great job). How would you feel being DQ'd for numbers since "one" scoring crew said they were not "readable" or to spec, but have "passed" several other "scoring crews".
2) port chamfering (I do not know the specifics of the Clark motor, so canot base my opinion on that one in particular).....how is it legal? It is surely a "speed advantage" and definately not STOCK, although I would BET that atleast 75% of the "stock" Yamato's are FAR FROM STOCK (of which I am guilty of too)!!
WOW, could you imagine winning the Nat title in your class and your motor and boat have passed inspection, but your "numbers" were determined NOT to be "readable" or legal...........
so, those are a couple of "my" thoughts, so let's see how twisted this thread will become......
bottle line is that "we" are making the jobs of the "scoring crew" and "inspectors" way TOO difficult!!!!!! No wonder they are getting harder to find!
