        He's fine

JW got away with a bruised forearm. He was photographed with his arms around some Hawaiiam Tropic girls a little while afterwards. The crew thinks they can fix the boat in time for tomorrow.

J Michael is 3rd on the qualifying ladder.

From the reports in 2B, sounds like JW tried to fly again in the same spot....way to keep it on the water. Finished second for the heat. Shaping up to be good TV when this race airs on OLN in September.

                    Amazing

I was in the pits with my dad an J Micheal Kelly we were all stading there talking about J Micheals boat ride n stuff. I gazed over watching the Miss Elam hauling A** down the back shoot. JW hit a roller and the front of the boat came up, it hung in the same position for a looong time i coulda counted 2 or 3 mississippis before the boat even actually left the water. Me n J Micheal were one of the only ones to see how long the boat actually hung there and when he first started to go we had time to point and yell "ohhh s***". Too bad i left the camera in the motor home...

J Michael just rode JW's rooster tail into the first turn and went over on the first lap of the final heat. Mike got out of the boat on his own power and seems to be okay, and is getting checked out by medical personel.

Looks like JW could win this race if he keeps everything in tact and finishes good in the Final.

                        No Dice

Jdubbs was one of the three boats in the final... Unfortunatly he got 2nd...Terry Troxell won on a race that was basically gift wrapped for him. Mike Weber took 3rd. Jdubbs had the inside coming up the backstretch with about 30 seconds left on the clock, he got going too slow (he had no cowell because of his flip on friday, it was destroyed) and the water washed over the engine and the boat stalled. He got it going again but didnt have the start that troxell had. A tough break...
At the start of the day Llumar and Elam were the favorites to win. The Llumar in a prelimanary heat was inproached upon and the right sponson got caught in the wrath of The Miss Chrysler Jeeps roostertail. The roostertail completly ripped the right sponson of the Llumar off and they were done for the day.
J Micheal was also inproached upon in the first turn of the final by Steve David the driver of the Oh boy Oberto! Steve was in lane 3 and had JW and J MIcheal on his inside. Steve moved over on JW and JW had no where to go but left and there was J Micheal up up up he went. He went extremely high and when he came down the back end of the boat slammed into the bottom of the river. J Micheal was taken to the hospital and was treated. He returned to the pits after everything was over (extremly sore) and had a few beers.
The only good thing about this crash is that i had the video camera this time and got the whole thing. Even CHannel 4 News team took my tape and its being broadcasted over our local news...(yeah i felt good about myself)
PLease ask qeustoins if any of this doesnt make sense to someone...il try to explain better.
                        Later tho

Makes senses to me, Andrew - it's almost word for word what Jim Harvey passed along to J Michael's Dad. Except the part about the beer, which makes even more sense. Thanks for the update!
