MHRA boat count
Paul,
MHRA puts on 3 SO races each year in Region 6 and we typically average between 120 to 165 entries per day.
Constantine MI - normally about 135-145 entries. Last few years JH, AXSH, ASH, and 20SSH have had eliminations (13-17 boats)
Grass Lake MI - normally about 150-170 entries. JH, ASH, 20SSH and CSR with elims that last few years.
Big Rapids MI - last race of the year in MI w/ about 115-125 entries. We normally don't have elims, but most classes mentioned above will have 10-12 boats.
A few notes:
1) CSH has had elims about 3-5 years ago, but has decreased in participation in the area over the last 2-3 years.
2) BSR typically has 8-10 entries
3) JR and AXSR has increased in participation w/ 7-9 entries on average
4) Constantine is all J, SO, OSY400 and DMH, FEH
5) Grass Lake is all J, SO closed course and marathon
6) Big Rapids is all J, SO closed course and marathon
If you have any questions please let me know.

region 7 boat count
Paul,
Boat count for us is all over the place. The last 2 years Burlington was over 100 each day, this year 65 each day.
DePue this year set an all time record high with 135 on Saturday and 110 on Sunday.
Rock Falls set the opposite record with 48 on Saturday.
Region 7 relies heavily on Regions 6 and 8 to get us over the hump to 100 each day.
Rochelle is next weekend and I'm expecting 80 -85 each day.
Pleasant Prairie has had 65 & 85 the last 2 years, but this year will be down since it conflicts with Franklin.
Beloit is a 55-60 per day race.
Oshkosh can push 70 - 80 on a good year.

Boat Counts
Seems to me, your not asking the whole question. When you have 125 entrys but have 30 or more classes. How is that better than 15 classes and say 75 entry`s. You may be making more money but the quality of the race suffers for both the driver and spectator.

Rochelle
Region 7 relys heavy on Region 6 for numbers, but it is hard to come support a new race when ones Divisionals are the same weekend only a few hours away. I believe a divisions Divisionals, NAC's, and Nationals should be the choice.
Maybe schedule some race dates that are not the same in Region 6 ? I know it is getting harder to do, but possible if there is some communications between the coordinators ? Maybe split the classes between the two ? I don't know the answers, just tossing my opinions out there.Dave Mason

Conflicts
Hi Dave,
I know. I really agonized over the date for Rochelle and had to go with what worked for the sponsor and our club, even though it would cost us a few Rgion 6 entries. I'm not happy with it, but really did not have many choices.
