If the title doesn't get ya then I hope the message will. My name is Charlie, I live near Toronto, Ont. CDA. I race D Canadian hydro, CSR,CMR,CSH,CMH and I love it. I got back into this sport through a friend Ron Collins. Ron and I have spent more time changing places in a corner than I can even remember. Ron and his wife Dorthy have taken care of me at every race I attended. Now I need to help them. Ron has gotten sick and will require all the help that our doctors can give. That leaves one thing that we as racers and racer familys can do. I know people who don't beleive in God but when all hell breaks loose that is the first word that pops from their mouth. I am looking for a small donation of your time, just a moment when you can give a few words to our maker. You might just say that we need more people like Ron in this sport or just on our planet. I could go on telling you all the reasons that he is my friend but if you have a friend then you know how I feel. So please when you have a spare moment give a little prayer. Thanks Charlie

We missed Ron & Dort in the pits at Ocoee, and at Waterford last weekend.
His knowledge and camaraderie are not easily replaced.
My thoughts and prayers are with him.

What can you say!!
I have tried to avoid this thread because I am lost for words Ron and Dorothy know how much Linda and I care about them. What can you say, Ron and I have shared a friendship that I will cherish forever. Ron and Dort were the gathering (mess hall), usual watering hole and last call bus at all our races, how do you top that. I could rummage through the trailer and get what I needed 90% time without asking and man that's trust if you have seen Ron;s trailer and toys that are in it. We all missed you at Waterford and sporting that new "D" motor. I will see you this month to spend some time and share some stories.
Ron and Dorothy we love you guys and miss you a whole bunch. You are in our thoughts and prayers all the time. Be strong Dort as I know you are and if you need anything , ANYTHING AT ALL you call us.
Regards,Dave Scott

Ron "36-CE"
Ron is an awesome guy, and a great friend to all in racing.
Through Ron and Charlie, I was able to re-live my racing days in the 70's. Ron was always at the races early to help out, and enjoyed racing as much as any of us. People like Ron and Dorothy make racing a great experience, and make the party afterwards.
If we can pull this off, if Ron is well enough, I'd like to get him down to Deseronto at least to watch.
I am sure that once Ron is able to receive visitors there will be a long line; myself, Tina, Emily and Patrick included.
On behalf of the CBF racers, I want to wish Ron all the best in the next few months.

I have been racing D Classic Hydro in Canada only 4 years now and I can't count how many times Ron Collins has helped me get out of the pits with advice, parts or a pull.
And anyone who has met Ron knows what I am saying is the essence of who Ron is. A true champion on and off the course.
I am praying for you Ron and Dorothy as well.
