Return of the 500 cc Runabouts

This past weekend several drivers from the Eastern Outboard Racing Club of Long Island traveled to Taunton Mass. to compete in the 500 cc PRO runabouts. Pete Voss, Pat & Jim Wright and Don Rusnak put their Konig powered Krier runabouts on the short race course at Tauton. Most used this as a test race for the up comming PRO Nationals coming up in a few weeks. The water was near perfect for these race boats. From the looks of things, 500 Runabout will be added to future races in the New England area. At one time there were over 15 of these rigs at all the local races. Enclose is a picture of Pete Voss in the N-66 and Don Rusnak in the N-9 coming out of the first turn.

500 runabout

Back only on a local level. Want to have fun again. Don is running my old 3 port Konig and really enjoying it, just like I did. I think we will be in Depue if things go according to plan. Thanks for the reply....Bob N-96

Glad to see you guys are back racing (i'm not) , I remember you guys from Long Island races , Quogue ,Sands Point , the big duck course Riverhead . Bought my first hydro from Pete Scopinich , well actually my dad bought it from Dickie !The whole EORC was inspirational to me growing up in Freeport . Great stuff ! Tom Foley .
