Spencer, I heard from Doug today, it appears the ambulance had to leave and never returned. Apparently they only got about a 1/3rd of the program run today.

I was supposed to be there, but the transmission let go in the motorhome in Gananoque so are back home now..... expensive weekend.

      Sorry about your troubles !!!
Gananoque is a place name I remember from vacations with my parents in the 50's, but I have no idea where it is. Where is Gananoque ???

sorry to hear about your troubles bob.
gananoque is a little town of about 7-10 thousand people along the st. lawrence river, about an hour and a half west of the quebec/ontario border.
it's less than a 10 minute drive from the thousand island bridge which goes from alexandria bay ny to a little village in ontario named ivy lea. some other larger cities that may give you some more orientation are it is about a half an hour west of brockville, 20 minutes east of kingston, 2 1/2 to 3 hours east of toronto
gananoque's main attractions during the summer are the fact the town is in the thousand islands area of the st lawrence river. it also has a couple festivals each year
hope that helps and, bob sorry to hear about your trouble with your motorhome
i hope the racers at waterford get those programs done today

I think I can sum up my season so far by simply saying if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't be having any luck at all!

            Great time at Waterford!!

            Some Hihglights…

            - Lots of action and tight racing, no injuries I heard of, but a few broken boats or wet drivers in ASH (Matt Arlt, Drew Frankland), 25SSH (Richard Hepton), CSH (Scott Ladd), DMH (CMH?) (John Greer, one of the IOA gang).
            - Everyone loved the tri-oval course again! It’s a blast to race on.
            - Awesome weather! Great water! Cheap entry fees and no surprises in camping fees! Haha.
            - Lots of testing on Friday.
            - Great live band and party on Saturday night, Did someone say FooFighters??
            - Sat racing was done early due to Ambulance leaving and never returning. Doug Overbury stepped up and hired the regular race attendee used in Eastern Ontario and they drove 4.5 hours on a moments notice to help us out, TORC picked up the tab. Racing started at about 9:15am on Sunday and all classes got in all heats for the weekend. Word is this crew will be used at all races in Ontario in 2006 so we will have a private ambulance and never lose one again to an accident outside of the the races.
            - Thanks to those who drove the extra hours to get here… we REALLY appreciated it! The Pemberton’s, Natali’s, Pugh’s/J Crew and the gang from IOA, French’s from TRORA (I’m missing others, thanks to you all!), and to those who tried to make the trip like the Abbott’s! And to those who wanted to be there but couldn'e like the Mason’s and Collins', hope to have you there next year!
            - Thanks to Heather Knox and the scoring crew and Ref’s Ted Abel and Doug Overbury who worked extremely long hours on Sunday!! Also Dave Scott and anyone else who managed the race, Hendrick, Misener, Webster’s…)
            - Thanks to Steve French who stepped up when needed and did back to back turn boat duty in 95 degree weather (107 with the humidex!!), and anyone else who did anything for that matter! It was HOT! I’m sure everyone lost a few pounds.
            - Big thanks to the Keegan family. They bring about 9-10 outfits with them in about a 40’ trailer regularly (about 10% of the entries!)… only half the family showed up and to fill some fields needing boats and just let some people have rides they lent out every outfit not being used!

This is a great sport because of the people!! Results I’ll leave for someone else because I was so busy I don’t even know what I got except one first in ASR.

It was also race 5 and 6 of the Meals On Wheels Charity Race Series. Another sponsor was signed up “Stop Action Photography” who took free pictures of everyone racing all weekend.

              great time as always

first I want to thank all the volunteers and helpers who did a great job in all respects without you we have no race. We basically pulled off a Saturday and Sunday schedule in one day and we were racing at 9:30AM Sunday morning. It was a lot of work but it all got done in very hot and humid weather.

To all the patrol boat drivers and turn judges great job you are to be pat on the back it was HOT out there for sure - Thank you.

Thanks to Doug Overbury and quality patient transfer for being at the drop of hat to pull of what they did for us.

All the drivers and crew - thanks for your patience and great work being in the water and ready to go to be able to pull of the full race schedule on Sunday.

We missed having Ron and Dorothy collins and several others we know you all love the race site and the great time had by all - We will see you there next year I am sure.

Thanks Again for all your efforts and patience - Dave Scott Race Director.

              Regards,

                Glad it Went Well

Well, I was in a slumber mood all weekend because I had to miss one of my favorite places to race. The Tri-Oval course is the funnest course to race on. For those of you that have never tried it, I challenge you to make it next year and experience it. The hosts are gracious, and generous, spectacular scenery, and overall a 9.5 on the fun scale for a race. For those of us that place fun in boat racing instead of points chasing, this is a FUN race !! You can get points to, but the fun factor is way up there.

I wish more places would utilize the piece of water they have like TORC does with this piece. Lots of sights in the U.S. could run a tri-oval.

See you next year in Waterford all things willing !

My nephew, Ozric, and I had a great time. Good job by everyone on the judges stand and pits for running off so many heats on sunday.

The band on saturday night was awsome. The drummer was amazing.

Thanks to Emily Overbury, Joe Pemberton and Bill Keegan for letting me try thier boats.

The only regret I have for the weekend, not changing the steering cable in the ASH. Now I have a coaming side and the cable to change.

                      Wow what a time!!!!

First want to let Ron Collins know alot of people were looking for ya buddie!
Had a long talk with Larry Downs and want ya to know you are on my mind and hope to see ya back out there soon!

Great fun even with the heat!!!! How many saw Beth skinny dip'n Sat night after the band? Kick-A$$ band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All day testing Fri really was worth whole trip---thank you!

Course layout was perfect!! That third turn makes it feel like a longer race.
Saw most of the action (while in resque boat) happen between 1st and 2nd turn. All turns were near full throttle!

Brian Rossman ran my second 25MOD Sat sched.---Was fun watch'n him win after my throttle failed (The o'l Pavlick gets around pretty good with him in it!) Too bad crank let go on him Sun after running deck-to-deck 2-laps Back-up powerhead already on and ready for next race

Fun watch'n Ross and Brian battle it out in B-Canadian!

DSH,DMH, D-Classic were awsum! Gotta hand it to you guys for keeping these classes alive! (Not very often you see more Mercs than Yamatos at a race site!! )

Heard Scott Ladds' name often in CSH and OSY-400.

George Pemberton's CSR (Dean Sutherland's old ride) looked good out there!

Izzy-----------THANK YOU AGAIN for giving us three days of unrestricked racing FUN!!!!!!!!!

                      19P GOING FASTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS---Sorry to hear about Hannawa Falls. Still my favorite ----but Waterford was very close on the GOOD TIME METER!!!!!

                        Ross,
The pair of umbrellas in the resque boat are mine.
Could you bring them to Williams Port/Franklin Nationals?

                          Nice, quiet camp ground!

Yeah, a hot, sticky weekend but great racing!
We stayed on until today, and could not believe what a pleasant place that
is to camp, go swimming etc, after Caferrelli, Pugh, French, Greer , Pemberton, etc take their mods home Also impressive is that on Monday morning, after a few hundred of us had been there for three days, other than the garbage cans being full, one could not have known we were there. What a great group to be with!
Good to see all the Dmods out, and the DMRs,
which we do not see often up here. What a site to watch one, hammer done, arc around the back straight. It would be great to see more of these , but how many crazies can there be to drive them?
Much impressed with Roskowski's 'four coil' ignition sytem as seen on
33M's Dmod. Easy starting, and smooth runner through out the range,
Also enjoyed 'tuning' French's 'melon' motor, a Bmod /KE7 tanked stacker.
Brought back fond memories , some 40yrs old.
And elims in ASH, who would have thought
