  • Zanesville Mod Divisionals 23-24 July

    Gents,
On behalf of President Steve Roskowski and the Indiana Outboard Association I'd like to invite you to compete at the Modified Outboard Central Divisionals to be held at Dillon Lake near Zanesville, Ohio on the weekend of 23-24 July. In addition to the Mod Divisionals which will be held on Saturday, we will also race selected Stock, J, and C Service Runabout/ C Race Hydro classes on both days. Our APBA sanction has also been approved for ASH, 20SSH, CSH, DSH, CSR and both JH and JR.
We are really excited to be able to host these races in the middle of the summer racing season. This is the first time in over 10 years that Dillon State Park has allowed us to have exclusive use of the entire beach pit area and the north end of the lake in the summer months. The new park manager has been a very enthusiastic supporter from the very first meeting with him. We hope that this relationship continues for future generations of racers in region 3, 6, and 7.
The community, local media, and sponsors are lining up to support us too. Although our sanction states that this is a "points only" race, I can tell you that we already have 3 sponsors who have pledged a total of more than $2000 to be used for club expenses and prizes. While I still have more potential sponsors to contact, I am hopeful that there will be still more prizes and trophies for our competitors.
Please see the APBA website for detailed sanction information. Or, call me at 740-319-5040 (cell). Mike Marshall, Raceboat 61-S Race Director

      I'm in!

I'm planning on attending with a 25MH and AMH. Possibly will run 20SSH as well.

Hope to have another AMH rig for someone to run as well. I've heard a lot of nice things about the site, let's just hope we have some nice weather.

Just curious..will this affect the number of OSY's running at Constantine for the USTS race?

Our Zanesville race shouldn't impact the OSY 400 boat count in Michigan very much. There are only so many race weekends in July and we need to hold our Mod Divisionals before the Nationals anyway. This race date should give all of our competitors an opportunity to qualify, get some points, and still give them one weekend after the Divisionals to repair and fine-tune before heading off to the Nationals at Franklin.
There should be no excuse for racers or fans missing a weekend of racing on July 23-24.....Constantine, Trenton, Illinois, and Zanesville all racing on the same dates, just like the old days. Nobody should have to drive more than 200 miles to race. Looking forward to hosting the Mods, Stocks, J's, C Service, and (and Mk-20H runabout) racers here. Mike Marshall, Raceboat61-S
