Great weather, elims in JH, AXSH, ASH, and 20SSH with full fields in DMH, AXSR, and a few others made for a fun weekend. What a great site to bring your kids to, mine had a blast. Thanks Mark and Gary for coaching them on how to flag.

One of my favorite racing moments was AXSH on Sunday. Tate, Rachel Warnock, and one other driver battling for 1st going into a lumpy turn 2, with no one backing off or giving an inch. AXSH is really turning into an exciting class.

Thanks to MHRA for all of their hard work, especially Mark Miskerik, Tim, Vicky, and Jared Sidor, Gary Romberg, Shannon Hoover, Mark Wheeler, Tracy Johnston, Ed and Steve Harrington. I apologize if I missed anyone, but those were the obvious ones.

    Great Race

Constantine is an amazing race...you wake up to a great breakfast, great racing, and the best part great people. Good water all weekend, the schedule kept moving good for the most part besides a few delays in J. Great competition in almost every class. Yeah its definetly a real enjoyable race

Thanks to all for a great weekend

As Bill said, a very good weekend of racing. Somewhere between 140-150 entries. A few classes were down 2-3 boats, but a few regulars didn't make it for whatever reason.

There are just too many people to mention all that helped put on this race, but a few that Bill left off that deserve mentioning are:

The Duffield's (Karen and Joe): Karen who was risk manager and did a great job and Joe who was our communication between inspection and the judges stand.

Ken Duffield who not only manned the pick-up boat, but brought his own to the race for use, as ours is still acting up. We would have been sunk without him.

Ken Wojtalik for heading up inspection.

.....and all the MHRA members and other voluteers who helped with set-up, race weekend and tear down activities.

Most importantly, Joe Whetstone and the crew at American Legion Post 223 did the usual top notch job with breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as the use of their wonderful facility.

Overall, the weekend had great competition and safe racing. Thanks to all the driver who travelled long distances to attend the event. I hope to have results out later.

            Couple more things

Sorry, but I thought of a couple more things.

Leo Schlotter was on site and took a ton of pictures. For those that have seen Leo's work before you know he does a great job. Please help pay for his gas and time the races, by buying some pictures.

It should also be noted that rookie JH driver Patrick Oleary collided with Kathleen Allen while milling. Kathleen was OK, but her boat suffered some damage.

Patrick had a pretty banged up foot/ankle, but should be back on the water in no time. Get well soon Patrick!

                Leo's email address

I just wanted to get Leo Schlotter's email address out as he took some excellent pictures at this race and many others throughout the midwest.

Please support Leo as he is one of the nicest guys around and takes his time to travel to many of the races in Region 6 and 7 during the summers.

Leo should be sending proofs in the mail soon, but if you didn't get them you may want to drop him an email. If you want his phone # send me a private email and I can forward to you.

                Leo's email: lschlott@dmrtc.net

                Thanks,
                Mark
