  • Franklin, PA Memorial Regatta

Three Rivers Outboard just completed its first race of the year at Franklin, PA. A total of 247 entries hit the water over the weekend. We were fortunate to get 3 out of 4 sets completed on Saturday due to a delay caused by mother nature. On Sunday, the race committee did an excellent job in running ALL 5 remaining sets and everyone getting 2 heats.

I would like to thank all of those who worked so hard to put this race together. Thank you to those who were at the site on Friday working their tails off to get everything set up, including those in registration. Thank you to all the inspectors and judges stand workers. Thanks especially to Shannon Hoover and Jack Brewster who scored and refereed the race all weekend long without a boat ride. Finally, thanks to all the racers who showed up from Canada, Michigan, Maine, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, Connecticut & Virginia!

I think the new course played out very well and we're ready for the Nationals.

See ya in Franklin again in August!

      Bill,

We had 13 20ssH's Saturday and 14 on Sunday. I believe Dana Holt won overall on Saurday and Nate Forshey on Sunday. Jerry only ran CSH and did very well. I won my elimination heat both days but finished fifth both days in the final heat. I need another 1mph on top end, if that, and I'm right there. Weigel stuck a piston Sunday in the elims, it smelled pretty bad as I was right behind him. He said he didn't think it did any damage but would know more after he tore it down and took a look.

Amy Sweeny beat Ron France on time for Saturday ASH win.

A young member of the Gary Pond team won ASH Sunday.

          13 boats Saturday...12 on Sunday.

Watched the closest finish is a long time in AXSH with France leading by 6 lenghts going into the last turn, sliding way wide coming out of the turn and Dylan Justice beating him to the line by 6 inches. One of the best finishes of all time.

Yeah that was a pretty awesome race to watch. I had a great time this weekend. I know this is kinda off the subject, but I was wondering if anyone found a 2004 Southeast Divisionals shirt from Jesup, GA? (size small i think) ..I believe I misplaced it Sunday afternoon and I'd really like to have it back. Thanks

Had a great time even with the rain on Sat finished 3rd in AXSH (out of 9) and 6th ( out of 8) on Sun bad starts will do it every time. Finished 4th in BSH on Sat. Course was great even with the small milling area. Got to meet some great people to looking forward to next race there. It was a well run show even with the weather on Sat.

                      Thanks To All

A big thanks to all participants, and to the crew working the race. Tough job and they stuck to it.

I had a blast over the weekend, the bonfire ring was crowded for sure ! Not sure how crowded it was when the boat was tossed in..... Wellwood must smell funny burning.

I think only one wet rider all weekend, she was fine, happened in milling I believe. I only remember her coming on on the Jet Ski, spitting, and telling her dad that the water did not taste so good..... I had to laugh.. Sorry Jessica.

Tons of awesome competition, good close races. Beegles MJR Hull in BMH looked impressive racing Runne Sunday, good race.
