Rick Keller is racing one in Region 10. Rick Attends most AOF and APBA races in this area. He's got it running on an Apel 4 point Laydown, and it's rolling.

        Bass Tohatsu D

Mike is right, Rick Keller ran the new motor at Bridgeport. The last heat on Sunday Rick made a great start and finished second. The boys had some corner speed on him but lost 3 to 4 boat lengths in the chutes. I think with a few calls to a favorite prop dude, the outfit will be a contender!!

My motor is being imported as we speak. I am working on a webpage right now. On it I will chronicle all my experiences with the Tohatsu/Bass motor. Give me a couple more days and I will have the webpage completed.
I'm glad to see this topic is still active. The Tohatsu/Bass project kinda dropped from discussion lately.
I can't wait to get the motor!

            Bass Tohatsu D Motor...

With the APBA Stock Nationals being at Moses Lake, WA., Region 10 in 2007, I am planning to put together a D Stock Hydro outfit with a Bass Tohatsu D motor. It will be a laydown style boat.

Note for all you trivia types. The last APBA Nationals at Moses Lake was the Alky/(Pro) Nationals in 1963.

            Best Regards To All,

              My Tohatsu webpage

My Tohatsu webpage is up and running. Not a bunch to report right now. But it will be updated often, as news is gathered.
              Below is the link.

                Progress update

I've had a lot of people ask me where this project stands right now. And let me tell you, the rumor mills are in full swing. Not to worry, the Bass/Tohatsu motor project is moving forward. We had a little setback, but are moving forward again. Neil Bass still expects to have the motor shipped within the 6 month timeframe he projected (end of August).
On my website, I posted a full explanation for the delay. I also posted some photos of the towerhousing, mounting bracket, and lower unit.

                  Recent meeting

The APBA Bass/Tohatsu comittee voted to extend the dyno testing deadline until the end of September. I personally want to thank everyone who voted in favor of the extention. In light of the delay Bass Machines encountered, I think it was the right thing to do.
Also, I posted on my webpage, some in-process pictures taken from inside the Bass Machines shop.
