  • American HOT ROD press release

From the desk of American HOT ROD

    Quarter One Review

American Hot Rod continues to push forward to meet the self-imposed manufacturing timeline released at the A.P.B.A. National Meeting in Atlanta, GA. “We are working hard to get the company off the ground again and produce new motors and parts” said Ron Selewach the owner of the new American Hot Rod.

Things have been busy since the Atlanta meeting. Several of the parts and assemblies that have been out of production for the last several years are coming “online”, this list includes rods, crankshafts, ignitions, carburetors, blocks. Not all are ready for production and sale yet, however steps are being taken to get them there in 2005!

American Hot Rod also celebrated hitting their first of five major company goals for 2005 at the Winter Nationals in Occoee, FL. The introduction of the first new American Hot Rod 15c.i racing motor built with all new parts! “This is the first step to getting this motor back into full production” said Ed Runne, head of Engineering and Manufacturing for AHR. Along with a new motor a new American Hot Rod logo was also unveiled, special thanks goes to outboard racing’s own Nate Forshey, AHR Graphics Lead. “Nate did an excellent job of remembering the past but looking to the future in creating the new logo,” said Dean Sutherland AHR Marketing and Sales. A lot of eyebrows were raised and a few glasses also as AHR sponsored a D.J. and beer to celebrate this first achievement of 2005.

AHR is also excited to announce a target date for the completion of the current J/A gearcase. To the delight of a lot of anxious J kids May 27th is the target completion date for the initial J/A gearcases. This first run will go to the kids waiting for gearcases to complete J engines and fulfill the prior waiting list held by A.P.B.A. Not to worry though, gearcases are back in production and are expected to fulfill all the pent up demand in the J and A classes. “Even though it took some time away from AHR we are happy to help out the kids and outboard racing any way we can”, said Ron Selewach. “Although we want to get them into Hot Rods in a few years!” he also commented.

On a more frustrating note the eCommerce website still is in the testing and completion phase. “We know what needs to be done and are working to get it up and running, but it has proved to be a bigger task than expected,” said Dean Sutherland.

Next up for American Hot Rod, get the 15c.i. HR in full production and take the new prototype A motor from engineering to build phase for testing and display at the 2005 A.P.B.A. Stock Outboard Nationals in Dayton Ohio.

“Keep your eye on us, exciting things are starting to happen!”
