      D Mod / E Mod Speeds

I also like to look at the GPS, But in the end the only thing that really matters is who gets around the course the fastest. Race conditions are changing all the time. Water, Wind, Temp, Humidity, Altitude ect. Take your pick. My advice is factor in all variables at each race site when picking a "Race Setup". By the way, no one is going to tell you What speeds they really run, They might give something away

        Honest Answer

If you want to be competitive with the so called Big Dogs you need to see straight away speeds approaching the high 80's. Corner speeds need to be around low to mid 80's.

This is like a Whitney Point course, about a mile. And a lot like the Ocoee FL race after they changed the course.

So you say you were breaking loose. Sounds like you were setting up an A stock.... lol I bet your nose of your foot was above the botom. You would need a huge prop to run that High with that much tuck.

Sounds like you solved the problem. I bet is was fast in the straits and a handful in the turns too. That is a great boat I have driven several and the Giles will be my next boat too.

                  Kevin,

I didn't think anyone set up as high as I sometimes do, much less higher!

Lower your motor about 2" from where you had it set and work up.

Do you really need to be tucked that much? Try parallel to start with.

Ron Hill told me that he used to test with 1:1 and then race with 1 tooth under and the same prop. I have some props you can try.

Kevin "MacAttack" MacAfee and "Burnin'" Vernon Barfield will be at Alex. If you can keep them in site you're in the hunt! I'll be there and will be doing a lot of testing. I have a decent motor and props - just have to get new boat set up. Go out when I do and see how we compare.
