Lake Wales is "Old School" racing

Thanks to Paul Hooten and Peace River for finding a new racing site where we can race like we used to! Short course, interesting water (i.e. driving required), with camping, cabins, RV hook-ups, and a chicken dinner RIGHT THERE. Good story telling and 'socializing' well into the night, in fact I believe some new stories were inadvertently created. Those of us too indoctrinated in "modern" racing where caught off guard with our motel and resturant reservations. But we will not make that mistake again! Here's hoping we get to race there several times a year.

I agree with Fred! The hospitality of the site was unbelievable, very cordial people. Food was good. Facilities were more than adequate and very inexpensive. And yes, the story telling at night was quite a hoot. Fred was also right on the interesting water - since I was the only one (I think) who couldn't stay in the boat, I guess the water did show who knows how to drive and who doesn't yet. Kudos to Paul and the other members who volunteered their time to prep the site. Great site, worth several visits a year.
