  • NBRA Season opening

    All,

NBRA's season is about to start April 23-24 on Lake Bulow at Pineville, Louisiana (Alexandria) with two days of fast-paced fun and lots of good competition. Then, June 4-5, Rockaway Beach, Missouri (Branson) is the scene of more fast action. June 4 is NBRA's National Short Course (3/4 mile) championship, and June 5 is a regular points race for $1,500 in prize money.

This is an invitation to any and all boat racers who want to run with a great group of people who are enjoying building boat racing in their area. There's a $25 fee for non-NBRA racers at these races, or, for $75 you can be an annual NBRA member and race at any of our sanctioned events across the Southwest, Midwest and Northwest.

For more information on these and other races, contact NBRA Executive Director, Doug Schultz, at: nbranews@yahoo.com.

Hope to see you on the water this summer!

    Dan M. Crummett
    President, NBRA

      Season Opener

I'm getting more confused on the weekend fee for NBRA non members. One person says that the $25 for the weekend is only for those that are members of one of the other national organizations but not a NBRA member IE APBA or AOF and anyone who is not a NBRA member and does not belong to another national org must pay the $35 per day. The posting above nfers that the $25 is good for anyone and is for the weekend. How about letting myself and all the others that may be interested, the straight skinny? Those running the show at Pineville want to be fair and want to charge the correct amount. Definitive guidance is sorely needed!

Non-member Racing Fees At Nbra Races

        All,

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused with my "season opener" message about NBRA races this year and fees for non-members.

        The straight stuff is:

If you're a member of one of the national organizations, AOF, APBA etc., you can race for $25 a weekend with us--plus class fees.

If you're NOT a member of any national boat racing sanctioning organization the fee is $35 a day--plus class fees.

Hope to see you at one of our races.

            Steve,

There are about three motels in Pineville (a small town) and 8-10 across the river bridge in Alexandria, La. You won't have any problems finding a room. The motels in Pineville generally are more reasonable in price.

No official social/dinner planned. Most folks enjoy going to Tunk's (a super seafood place about 15 miles west of Alex, and owned by a guy who is very kind to boat racers).

The race coordinator is John Snell, and he'd welcome your call to discuss any of this on the phone: (409) 722-6256.

            Hope to see you there.
