Luckily my Blue Cross/Shield Standard Option covered most of my bills last year. But then again I claimed it as a accident while loading ski-boat on trailer (slipped on ramp and landed against prop )----not a race event accident.

Thanks to all who have donated and to all who have shown concern & friendship for Brian. He is a great friend with a lot of energy! He is counting his blessings and is working hard on recovering. As Don Allen Jr. stated, don't chance it with old Kevlar or the mesh style top. The Kevlar sleeve was pushed forward towards Brians elbow, exposing his arm. We know this as there were at least 6 prop cuts on the inside with 2 cutting through.
Let's remember that it's only a boat race. There is always next weekend.

I did note that Brian's sleeve appeared to have been pulled down from the top as we moved him onto the rescue boat using the lowered ramp. I did not have an opportunity to examine the sleeve as we were concentrating on getting him to shore.

To help keep my sleeves in place, I've rivited a web loop on the inside of the sleeve which loops between my thumb and forefinger. This keeps the sleeves down with the lower end at my wrists. My upper garmet is a full jacket of Spectra. I might add that I also wear Kevlar gloves with and over glove that has a wide wrist band which also tends to retain the sleeves in place.
