  • Wayne's World of Boat Racing

Okay Jeff--I'll give it a try! Here are some shots from the APBA Nationals Depue, August 1974. Unfortunately a carosel of 80 of the best from that time period disappeared after a boat show in Houston.

    Wayne,

Thanks for the pic's. Brings back a lot of memories. Lower left photo R-148 is Bob Rhodes in a ZaK/ Rhodes fuel injected "C" Konig. V-4 is Homer Kincaid's last Zak/ Konig. Must be the year after he retired. Forgot the name of the guy who bought it. Keep the pic's coming.

Isn't that Ralph Donald in F-22 and John Dortch in Y-99?

        Y-99

John Dortch in the Y-99.I see him at the St.Louis CHAMP races each year. He's doing good, plays a lot of golf now.Likes his turkey hunting with Little John. Top left is Fred Hauenstein in one of those Canadian boats.Bellville? Jerry Kirts was H-1,but that could be his brother Dan.Looks like a Beyers

His best work was mixing what he called 'Rocket Fuel' at the bar in the lobby of the Holiday Inn during the nationals. He is and has always been a fine individual but a determined competitor on the race course.
