I know accidents can happen even with the old rounded front hydros.I remember a friend being killed years ago by getting hit in the face with a regular hydro front. My point is it's GREAT to make things safer, but perhaps we could go further, have training seminars for young or new racers, after drivers meetings or at night. We could discuss, overlap, not to follow people into corner etc. Craig Bowman had the right idea years ago when he taught people how to turn a runabout, than he or us did not have to worry a lot in each turn. It's like driving a car these days, they just throw kids out there with not much training.I would rather be racing with people that know how to drive than be on the highway anymore.
My two cents trying to apply my corporate training,
    Thank You,
    Earl

I like the idea. I for one would show up if nothing else to get a pointer or two, which I need.

And Now The Rest Of The Story

I implemented a mid production design change, so it looks a little odd, but it will be safer and won't pop the bouys so easy.

PS, Ya I know it's Sponge Bob Square Pants, I like to says Square Bob Sponge Pants, just to bug the kiddies.

I did the exact same thing to mine except I did not round them to look nice. I left mine in the fresh cut form. Took a whole 30 minutes start to finish and cost 1 pump of west and a brush.

Ok here is the tech explantion for rounded sponsons and rounded edges. At subsonic speed air molecules "bump" into pointed surfaces creating air turbulance. At these same speeds air "flows" over rounded surfaces. Above supersonic speeds the opposite is true, this is why unlimiteds went to rounded sponsons, Dave Villwock was the first to do it on the 89' Circus Circus and this is why fighter jets are designed the way they are. Oh by the way this was done to help keep the boats on the water.
