    Mike,
Sorry about the mistake was going to write ethanol and got lazy and then used the wrong E**. I've corrected my error.
Though I understand E85 is diffidently in our future.

We use recreational gas .6 oz. per gallon . It is ethanol free and is 90 octane. Most marinas have ethanol free fuel also. Works well for us.

Do you really mean 0.6 oz or should it be 6 oz?

We've been running 32: with Redline 2 Cycle Racing Oil and it seems to be more than enough. I'm wondering if 40:1 would be within reason.

I think you are safe at 40:1, especially since the motor (fishing) came from the factory with a 100:1 recommendation.....

We were a Scott McCulloch Dealer and I remember when McCulloch was the first to come out with the 100:1 outboard oil and surface gap spark plugs. I also seem to remember that there was a warning about washing your hands after exposure to the oil. Something to due with heavy metals. Even had a few Mercury owners use it. Worked great. I don't think it could sold today with all the regulations.

Just for 2 years, then they went back to 50:1.

All I used to run in thr Merc 15's was 6oz to a gal even though they are fishing motors I was turning them 1200 to 1500 higher then they were supposed to be turning them. I run the same mixture in the Sidewinders A and the 20 inch B motor turning the A motor at 8000 and the 20 inch motor at 8300 I use nothing but Penzoil blend. Oil is cheap parts are expensive.

Gene would that be the the Pennzoil Marine Premium Plus Synthetic Blend TCW3 or their Marine XLF Syn Blend TCW3?
                        Thanks Pete
