    Herb:
Your farther told me hoe suspicious inspectors were when he used a Quincy exhaust on a KG4. He ran it open for A racing and scerwed the plate on for ASH. Valcovic probably saw that engine.

I had an engine inspected by Valcovic once and he was pretty dissaproving: there's a lot you could do to this engine, he said.

The best prizes I received was when racing in TRORA was cash. I believe it was $20 for a first place. In that day you either raced as a professional (received cash) or amateur (trophy). Odd boat numbers were amateur and odd professional. Mine was 14S and 16S.
trapper- When did you race at Huron, OH? I raced at Huron in 1959 (non APBA) in BU and then my brother an I in the Coakley Cup (non APBA) in 1961 in Lake Erie. This was open to any outboard boat and horsepower . We won with a 15' Razorback demo with a used 60Hp Scott Atwater we had taken in trade. The only new stuff was a Mich cupped wheel and a Tempo gas tank. I believe the reason we won was because we were the only boat still running. That's Lake Erie water on a normal day. The boat was
a loss and we sat on pillows until the skin between the cheeks you know where healed.

My AOF Nationals plaque from about 4 years ago. Because that was the weekend that I won AOF nationals at Moses Lake on Saturday. Then drove over the mountains that night and won Lake Lawrence on Sunday in an epic side by side battle. Best weekend ever.

Second best, last weekend racing motocross, Age and treachery triumphs over youthful exuberance.

Made an AOF race,, prior to NBRA,, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.. Around 1992.
Pepsi was our sponsor and we were given a 12 pack of Pepsi products per
class entered... I entered 3 classes..
Broke a crank on my A-mod motor in the first turn of the first lap..
The OMC flywheel sheared off the ignition system and ended up in the water..
Total bebuild was a LOT more than the prize.. Oh well.. But it was a good memory.

Bent sprocket award for first loosing my brakes, then my right wheel..was an actual drive sprocket that had been bent and put on a wooden base...

..this is in vintage kart racing...does that count?

ready to run my ASH with Yomato 102 as soon as the weather warms up..c
