    Nice pic but....

With all that roostertail and the sponsons that close to the water it looks like a little more setup work is in order.

Good pic. Any way to make the pic larger so we can see the details a little better? Nice looking boat too.

Mike, I think you missed the point about the sponsons .... you can see clear under the boat ... it's not riding on the transom

                  I hear ya' Sam

I guess I have a hard time thinking in terms of anything but good, solid race setups. I like to go fast and have control too. That is the nose of the gearcase I see under there......cool.

I guess the the next question is, did Dan get it back down? That really looks like a Yamato 350 on the back of an early Schumacher. I base this on the way the pipes slide on eyebolts around a tube. That could even be the boat that Dan won the 1982 350 WC in Dayton with. By then he was laying down in a kneeler though.

Eric--You're right. I went back and looked at the contact sheet and it is a B. I didn't recall the Kirts' running Yamatos, but then I been out of it for so long I could't even tell a B from a D. He did keep it on the water. That was about the upper limit of his flight, though he pretty much had it hanging like that all the way around except the turns.

Wayne..........I have never seen Danny that far up in a hydro..........He must have thought he was to high to make through the first turn. Bet he never cracked the throttle...........
