It was news to me. In 1997 Lars Dickfors of Sweden built this 0-500 boat to capture the kilometer record held by Dan Kirts at 122 mph. When Lars made his attempt, the water was really rough yet he still ran 117 mph. The 122 mph record would stand till 2011? When Sean McKean used a standard circle Pugh Boat Works to up it to 130 mph.
