Evinrude 15A paint/decals?

I have purchased some reproduction decals from Garzon Studios for my ASH motor. They are a slightly different color than stock. Is there a rule that states these motors have to look absolutely stock? I was also thinking I may paint the hood white to better match my boat.

Thoughts? Comments?

Got paint ?

Your local Johnson dealer can get the paint in factory rattle cans , or the aftermarket match at about 1/2 the price

Cool site! No race decals for J&E?

Never heard of anyone being DQ'd for not having factory OEM decals, or matching cowls in the last 10 years or so. I thought the rule was removed when they became NLA.

After watching some ASH youtube videos I have found one or two white Evinrude hoods. So far it seems its not a big deal, but I do understand why most guys would want to preserve the original look of the factory motor. Thanks for you replies! ... If anyone has more info on this, please let me know!
