Temperature today in Estonia was in the low 30s with light freezing drizzle :-)

Woh now.... The Schmidt boys test way more then anyone thinks..They just dont video everytime they do something..
I would say in my honest opinion. Hellsten, Eric and Mike Schmidt and Amy Nydahl will be very competative in the 250 race. Eric Schmidt and Kurtis Nydahl will be also competative in 175cch.
Benhke in Germany is running super high speeds in 250. So everyone is racing for 2nd as I see it anyway.

I am not sure how jetting for these temps and air conditions will help at the UIM World's in Florida. They were probably getting in some early runs with new engines and set-ups, rather than looking for major "break through". Regardless, I admire their determination and wish them luck and safe keeping this season.

Several years ago we tested on Thanksgiving Day.

Also tested on Christmas day or the day after. Can't recall exactly...long time ago. Didn't feel the need to videotape it.

And we didn't have sponsors to fund/answer to like these guys. This is not just some father-son dragging their rig out of the garage and throwing in a couple gas cans in the trailer.

Much more of a business enterprise.

Looks to me like a couple of those guys were looking for some bonus knee surgery while the things where running on shore with the props on.

                      Jetty Starts.....

It is different world across the pond. All of their racing is done off the jetty (docks) so they think nothing of starting motors with the props on. It requires a real good pit crew. Hopefully the pictures of me using Mikey's 250 cc 14,000 rpm wood router on Rossi's practice jetty never surface.....

There are some real good pictures of European jetty starts on the Team MSR page on Facebook.

                        Secret

When I test, and where I test are secret. Otheriwse too many folks will show up and before you know it any real data you might get is skewed, or compromised. The very last place I want to test is at the race site the day before or day of. All that is for (to me anyway) is a feel for the course, and make sure the cobwebs are blown out. Or if a motor needs tested due to a problem.

That said, of course there is a difference in promotional testing and real testing. We need a lot more folks to go for promotional testing.
