Speeds? Was this NBRA?

I think his 20 (ave) speed* was 58.19 mph (2.32 min ---- 2 minutes 19.2 seconds over 2.25 miles)--- and his CSH a bit slow since he had to pass some traffic on the outside ... 59.21 (2 min 16.8 sec) mph.

Does anyone have a speed chart that is all figured out for a 3/4 mile course or 2.25 miles.. Not a formula with variables

Dan, I believe those are incorrect times! One was 2:32.2 seconds (That would be 2 minutes 32.2 seconds). The other was 2:28.2 (that would be 2 minutes 28.2 seconds)

I guess that is why NBRA gets the big bucks to do the calculations! Perhaps the calculator that I used from "the internet" is flawed.

Average speed = distance/time (Scalar quantity.)

and

Average velocity = *delta position/time (Vector quantity.

I have got to ask how 2 minutes and 32 seconds suddenly turns into 2 min 19 seconds... Just asking

2.32 minutes is the decimal equivalent of 2 minutes 19.2 seconds.


to get a decimal minute, divide the seconds (19.2) by number of seconds per minute (60). 19.2/60=.32

yes Kyle I agree with you if it was a decimal of a minute. But, it isn't! It is recorded in minutes, seconds and tenths.

Please read the time again, as an example the one time is:

A Hydro -

2 minutes 32 seconds plus 2/10th of a second

it is not a decimal of a minute as in .32 being 19.2 seconds.

2 : (colon not point) 32 . (point) 2

So if you wanted a decimal it would be 2 minutes plus 32.2/60 =2.54

For C-Hydro

2 minutes 28 seconds and 2/10th of a second

2 : 28 . 2

So if you wanted a decimal it would be 2 minutes plus 28.2/60= 2.47

Clear as mud now?
