                To A Great Competitor...

......here's looking forward to meeting in the first turn once more. I always have considered it a pleasure knowing you and a privilege to race against you. Hopefully us old guys still have a few tricks up our sleeves for the young pups.

One More Lap Around the Sun

                  Happy Birthday, Fred

These are to be celebrated as small victories.

Getting old beats the alternative, you get the senior discount and you can get away with stuff...

                      Funny Fred Story

I have know Fred and Family for many years....and have a lot of fun racing against both his son Dan and Fred himself in D stock hydro. When I found out last year at Grass Lake that Fred would be driving the D rig...I thought...no problem! I can make Fred eat my lunch in D! Boy was I wrong. Sneaky old Fred somehow slipped inside of me on the start...and I thought....no problem! I am maybe 1/2 mile an hour faster the Fred...I can drive my azz off and get around him...WRONG AGAIN! Sneaky old Fred knew I was on his outside...and every lap he pushed me a little farther out and a little farther out...pretty soon I was running in the dang reeds on the backstretch. And on the last lap, when he KNEW I was going to cut inside him...sneaky Fred dove for the apex bouy..keeping me on his outside. I ALMOST caught sneaky Fred at the finish line....my boat and I were covered in reeds (thanx Fred) and I was laughing so hard when I came into inspection people thought I was nuts. After I pulled all of the reeds out of my helmet and life jacket and stuff I went over and told sneaky old Fred that was the most fun I have ever had at nationals racing. Happy bday Fred....

                        Fred,
Thanks for your friendship through all the years. Fun to pick back up and visit wherever we run into one another and as Mr. Hope would sing, "Thanks for the memories."

                        Ray
