As announced at the CBF Convention and APBA SLT Meeting about 2 months ago, myself Graham Fralick and my brother Andrew Fralick have been invited to represent Canada at the ThunderCat P750 World Championships in Cornwall UK this October 4-13. (or better known as SLT Superlight Tunnels in APBA)
This will be the first time a Canadian team (and we believe any team from North America) has competed in the UIM World Championships for this discipline. An amazing opportunity... But we need your help to get there! It's a costly trip.
We have found that it is almost impossible to attract sponsors without a large social media presence. We would like to thanks the many people who have liked our Facebook page as well as those who have followed us on twitter. For those who haven’t found us yet, we ask for your assistance in taking a few minutes to add us on both twitter (www.twitter.com/fralickracing or @FralickRacing) and our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/fralickracing).
If you’d like to take your support a step further, we've setup a GoFundMe.com account... So any amount of donation can be made securely, quickly, and easily, and would be greatly appreciated.
Donate any amount here:
http://www.gofundme.com/Team-Canada
Cash or checks payable to “Fralick Racing” can also be delivered to us if you prefer
All donors will be listed on our website (unless requested not to) and any donations over $200 will be considered a Sponsor with logo placement on our boat, engine or team apparel. In total it will cost us $10,000-$15,000 to attend depending on how much gear we take with us vs rent/buy/hire in the UK. But we figure if we can raise about half the money, we can make the rest happen. In the next 8 months we expect our team to be in front of 130,000 people, plus the worlds, testing sessions, and media exposure. And we’ve already secured stories to be published in publications with a circulation total of 240,000 and we are working on more. It’s become a full time job. Haha.
Those that know us, know we rarely ask for anything that does not benefit the racing community as a whole (we've volunteered over 6,000 hours to boat racing in CBF and APBA and area clubs and events, that's 800 working days). We’re normally not in it for personal gain, but for the greater good. But in this case, it simply is not possible without your support.
Teams at the Worlds will compete in 3 areas, Surf Cross (a track in the crashing surf), Circuit Racing (racing like we do here in Canada/USA), and Longhaul Marathon (70 mile run along the south coast of England). It will be a grueling week for sure. But a rewarding one competing with and meeting people from around the world. 80 teams from 15 countries are expected and it will be televised internationally.
We also hope representing North America at this event, that it will get some more exposure to the sport of boat racing here as we promote it and attract new racers to it in Canada and the USA.
We'll have our ThunderCat at the races and many events and displays throughout Ontario and USA pumping up the Worlds and our involvement... waving the flags, banners, literature, and names of our supports all along the way.
For any of you with companies, or know someone that maybe interested outside of our current network, for more exposure or envolvement, please feel free to contact us directly to see how we can help you.
Thanks all! And wish us luck!
Graham and Andrew
