  • Hydro History Question

Can anyone give me an idea about what year roughly hydros went from the two-step hydros to the three-point hydroplanes with the rounded nose? Any info regarding that tranformation would be helpful also.

    Thanks!

1910 hulls were "stepped" and those boats called "fast steppers." In 1936 Ventnor Boatworks (the Apel Bros.) introduced a "3-point" hydro at the Washington DC Presidents Cup. It kicked butt and the new design was quickly adapted by the race community.
