  • Guayaquil to Vinces, Ecuador 2013.

For those of you not connected to Facebook,
Marathon racer extraordinaire Josh Pearson has travelled to Ecuador to participate in the prestigious Guayaquil to Vinces marathon race.
This race spans 63 miles of treacherous rivers between the two cities. Josh very nearly won this event in 2011.
Please join me in wishing Josh good luck in this race.

Josh is expected to be testing today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday March 15-16)
He has taken many innovative parts with him that have never been seen in Ecuador before.
Here is a photo of the destination city, Vinces, Ecuador. There will be tens of thousands of spectators waiting to greet the racers who complete the 63 mile race from the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Testing has yielded very good speeds for Josh. I will keep the numbers to myself.
Here is another photo that was posted to Facebook by my friend Nelson Yela. I would say Josh is having a good time! Nelson and Josh riding and drinking in the back of a pickup on the road from the test site. You won't see that in the U.S.!

Good luck, wear sleves and be safe.

Great day of testing. Had a few issues with the carb early, but once again my friend Nelson removed his own carb and gave it to me. These guys are something else!! The chamber works great. A little spongie out of the hole, but top end is great. Since 95% of this race is top end, I am happy. The hatchet foot is a no go this year. Two reasons: a) apparently the water tap that we use to hook a pump to the Yamato isn't standard... And therefor these guys don't have that part of the block tapped. So I have no place to run my cooling line. B.) the second reason is they've installed a 3/4" height restriction. This means I can't run the hatchet where it's intended to run... At zero.

In all, everything has been great. Today we're relaxing and ive been studying the course. It's been pouring rain here, so not much else to do. Watching race video's.
