I recently purchased a hydroplane made by this company. It has a 25xs Merc on it. Has anyone ever heard of hiteck?

I have never heard of Hiteck. Do you know where they are located? Maybe someone else will have some info about them. Where did you buy the boat? Did the previous owner have any other info?

Got any pictures you can post?

      Hiteck Hydro

I've got one here in the UK & it's pouring with rain so I'm not going outside to measure it so all the following details are from memory.
      Picklefork
      9ft 6 long
      White gel coat GRP
      100 lbs ish.
I assumed it was of UK manufacture as the guy I bought it from here has another one exactly the same.

        hiteck

Thanks for your response. Hiteck is (was) located in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have tried to locate them without any luck. This boat is 9'6" long, and was sold by a dealer in Carolina beach, S.C. I have pictures, but I'm not sure how to post them. It was sold in 1988, and has been in a warehouse for 11 years. The fellow I bought it from told me he had used it approx. 2hrs. There is'nt a scratch. It is a picklefork with a nose that looks like an Indy car. It is black with graphics that match the engine. I don't think this was the first boat hiteck built, they seemed to have it downpat!! thanks, Russ

I had a boat built by the same people a while back but it was not a hydro, it was a tunnel boat that was about 10'-6" and had a step in the bottom. It was no good for racing but I had fun beating up on all of the jet skis that thought they could compete agianst a Mark 55.

                  Highteck Hydros

Russ I have done some repairwork on mine where the cockpit floor had cracked allowing water ingression into the cork like stuff that's used as a spacer. The cockpit floor mat is a woven Kevlar/ aramid looking stuff whereas the rest of the hull looks like sprayed chopped glass rovings.
My air traps run full length whereas yours seem to finish 6 or 8 inches short.
Yours looks a lot prettyier with that XS let me know how it does when you get it going.

Hey moon child, I agree. I don't plan on racing. I just want to show a yuppie on a jet ski what it's all about! Russ
