As far as the Propeller article, just sour grapes and poor taste on APBA's part.

    QUOTE]

Wow. Did you read the article? Sour grapes and poor taste? All Steve Greaves (Pro Chairman) did in his category article was explain why the APBA nationals would not be in Depue in 2013. Then he quoted an email the Depue men's club president sent Steve, who stated the water level was too low to guarantee a race in the summer. He futher explained his gratitue for the 28 years running with APBA on Lake Depue.

Nothing about USTS, NBRA, or the decision of USTS to switch affiliations.....

I think you're miss reading the intention of that specific article.

Just to make it really simple:

      1) Week of July 4th, the APBA PRO Nationals will be held in Kingston, TN. If you wish to compete for an APBA national championship, please attend this event. The town is enthused and putting a lot of energy and resources behind it. My understanding is that prize money will offered, but I have not seen anything official. All APBA classes will be eligible to race.

      2) End of July, the USTS will hold its national championship event in DePue. The event will be very similar to national championships held in the town for years. It will be run under a NBRA sanction and USTS rules. The town has always been a wonderful host and the racing speaks for itself. There is no way to know today whether sufficient water will be available.

Race one, race the other or race both. Just quit sniping all. It serves no productive purpose and can discourage those who support the sport.

        business

        My APBA Hat Is on.

Decisions like these are going to be the future for all we do.
It will become the new norm--APBA Pro Nationals has to make a call at the National meeting, Depue with its problems over the last 10 years (at least) has always been the APBA pro nationals prefered site even though the Pro category should have approached there nationals with a more business additude -emotion always took over.

So Pro APBA has found another site with the possibility of increased finances??? we will see.

Depue's problems with the water is no longer a concern of the pro category as they have moved on ,so whatever Depue does in reguard to its water level and the USTS can only be looked at as a opportunity for the APBA Pro category and a business decision was forced on them.
Facing the future finances needed to race will be either a local or regional clubs responsibility and will determine where and how we race--plain and simple.

        Region 2 Pro Commissioner

Which club is going to handle the sanction?

I can't think of a club anywhere near Knoxville.

Why a race over 4th of July? That may be a tough sell to my wife.

                Hey Captain,

Race dates are easy for you since you are foot loose and fancy free.
I don't wear pants but trousers.

To be serious, there are usually conflicts around the 4th of July. That was my main point.

I'll go back to being meow meow whipped.

Kingston has a 4 of July festival every year and boat racing has been part of it for many years, lets hope they keep it going.

Ahh, yes I have a host of friends.

I can take the ribbing, kind of asked for it too.

Ray, I'm hoping to go to Huntington. I really like that little course. It's fun to run both my mod and the old iron on the same weekend.

                          Pants vs trousers

I dont like to admit it either. Just tuff to take 2 weeks in 1 month in summertime specially when out of state family visits at same time and its only time during year to see grandbabys. Wonder how high on wifes priority list 2 nats are going to rate. Just sayin. Tim hope you come to the little lake in Ill.
