  • What does it Cost?

Just got our bill for a new 302. Adding all the improvements(lower unit shaped, prop shaft)head decked, diode installed with kill switch wiring. Total cost $2550 dollars. Does not include frieght to ship motor or lower unit. The cost to convert to a mod. is approx. $1700. This includes a cast downhousing, support for a pipe,a manifold and exhaust plate, a pipe, and improvements to lower unit(extended skag and nose cone). Most of the parts can be obtained from cliff Johnson. Brown tool has a few parts as well. You will need a support or kick out tool to support and align the motor which is sold by Brown. The most popular size runabout is 12' and hydro 11'. Total cost of motor is $4,255. You can expect to pay up to $4,000 for a new hydro or runabout. CMH or CMR=all new $8,255. You need two props cost =
$800.Paint and graphics can cost $1,200(paint alone was $1,000)for our new runabout, not counting labor...Total cost =$10,255. Get a trailer and a chev duramax and go racing.

That seems like a lot of money, for what I will assume, to be some good running stuff.
My friend had his two kids running sno cross for a few years. Two new sleds every year, if you would like to be near the front, at around $12,000 to $15,000 each and a trailer large enough for all the gear? Forget about it.
