  • Allowable D-Stock Engines

Seems there has been a lot of controversy lately in the forums and talk among racers about what engines are allowable and are not. It seems to me that way too many people are caught up in specifics about if this engine or that engine should be allowed and are ignoring the obvious. My thoughts on the matter is; If the engine meets the requirements for the class, i.e. the engine is a 40 or 44 cubic engine for D-Stock and meets all of the other requirements... who cares if it was made in Taiwan or Japan or is the fabricated imagination of some skillfull machinist. By opening up the specs to anything that meets the intent and requirement of the class will make more options available and will attract a lot more perspective racers. More racers is what our sport needs, nor more dribble about restrictions! Come on folks, we are killing our own sport from the inside. Something to think about!!!

No offense, but this already exists, it' called the Pro category.

By definition, the stock category needs very specific parameters on engines. Anything else defeats the purpose of stock racing.

      Stock Support

As you know I fully support One motor in Dstock racing and that is the Mercury 44XS. We in Canada have a classic division which attract 8 or 9 boats at every race. We allow the 44 blocks from 1972 and prior, Magneto ignition no changes in exhaust, 55H tower etc.... This is where these motors should be alllowed, there you go -- We now have DXSH hydro... Is that not what was done for the A class.

To quote Robert Duvall in Days of Thunder " There ain't nothin stock about a stock car "

        Stock 55H in Canada??

Since I also attend the races in Canada I feel I must advise. There is nothing stock about the front running DXSH. If there was, I hardly think 50-N would be holdin his own with my 44XS.

The Theory is sound, but the specs are spurious at best. That's why I sold my 55H and got the 44 in the 1st place.

        Just my opinion,
