With the 20s what size boat would would this use and what kind on speeds would be expected?

Also I see in the specifacations "removal of metal" would porting be allowed on this motor in mod? Thanks

Currently, I don't think modified specs have been proposed. So at least for now, I'd think the powerhead would have to remain stock.

          Sidewinder

Ya..I agree with Jeff. that thing was very cool looking. The other Sidewinder with the electric start was neat also...I have ran electric start on my mighty Tohatsu D motor almost from the start. Sure makes it easy just to hit the button and go....Davey

Yes indeed. That engine is an incredibly cool looking piece.

"Stage 2 presumes that the racer has no intention of racing stock with this engine and instead wants to do everything legal to the engine to achieve maximum performance in a modified configuration".
"While the factory powerhead remains in stock configuration ready for legal modifications, a short tower and tuned stinger pipe are added. Engine mods to achieve top performance, including the removal of metal, will prevent the engine from qualifying for the stock classes"
Again what metal would this be?

That would be up to the Mod commission. Since the motor has just been introduced they probably haven't had time to determine anything. Unless there are standard modifications allowable upon approval. That, I can't help you with.

Thanks for the replies, I did not think there were any "legal mods" at this time that would render this motor unable to be returned to the stock configuration. A great innovator once told me " it's not always what the rule book says, sometimes it's what it doesn't say", Will Paramore.

My real question, as we do not have B-Mod in this area would be what kind of speeds would be expected and what size boat might be in order? Would this use a C-stock boat like 36x72 or more of a 20 boat 35x69 ?

                    Thanks

You might want to put it on a real long C stock boat more like 35/36x76. In time I believe this motor will outrun a Yamato 80. Probably in the 74-75 mph range (top end).

You will need a big, but light front end C boat size boat. Runabout high end 60's, hydro low to mid 70's. It will like a light nose boat to keep the rearend planted.

I was able to just touch 70 on my 25xs rollup boat with a good B-mod Hot-Rod going into the corner!!! That was set up deep in the water with a 3 blade.

Seems to me.......There was a stipulation that the Yamato was the only legal B-HYDRO motor when they pulled the 25-MOD Motors and all new engines(350-400cc) were to go(be lump'd into), the 400CC/25MOD class??????????

Would be a much better ride Than in the Yamato's "Plow field"......?.....400CCH/25MOD could use the help!!

                                Mike Marshal??........Jeff 5P?......T.J?..........Mr Koschka?
