So tell me what “so much involved means”?

Well researched? If it was so well researched why did the J category not have the rule? Why was each category different? Why can runabouts run around with a worse tip on many of the boats and nothing was done?

I won’t speak for Ed but what I was upset with is we didn’t follow our rules not who won. What the SORC did was well within their power. Our rules are clear on that and I’m sorry for you and anyone that can’t see that. What we were fighting for was to do what was right. Our rules were 100% followed, and they still were last week. (ask Tony, I fought like hell for him at Grass Lake as his drivers rep)

Have you not been following what has been on here since you were not there?

Read the rule again…I believe it does not say “should” it says “may”.

And don’t start accusing a well respected inspector who did put that sticker on of not doing his job. (Part of this post was deleted or edited because other post were edited and this would not make sense)I happen to know who put that sticker on that boat. I wonder if anyone ever asked him why he passed it? Maybe, just maybe he had a valid reason. Maybe, just maybe, our rule was poorly written to some who understands that geometry stuff? I don’t.

      nice attack don

"from my memory" the same discussion and impact study was done for the cockpit side rules. i'm not trying to dissect our rule making policies. nor do i understand why boats and categories differ. only the fact that we "IGNORED" a safety rule as it applied to the ASH class at the finals at the 2012 STOCK OUTBOARD NATIONALS.

go ahead and attack me don. i'm easy. i say what i feel is right and open myself up to attacks like yours because this whole thing STINKS. The rules were not 100% followed as nobody is denying the tips were illegal. i think it was a region 10 commissioner who didn't care about how a DQ would make someone feel. don't you dare discredit region 10 because of a typo from me. i don't know who the inspector was who did the 2012 inspection (and i'm sure he is a well respected guy and NEVER did i insult his integrity) but his inspection and the final at grass lake were not the same. this is the fact...

i'm not whining or bit**ing. i just could not stomach another "the system worked" comment. yes the system worked for those who felt matt be allowed the victory. does that make it right? NO it doesn't and i'm sure our insurance carriers wouldn't think so either.

go ahead and bash me back don. i've said my piece and am done with this. the 2012 ASH champion is decided and it appears YOU are happy with the results. that's all that matters.

I recall the Annual Meeting when the Stock/Mod Pro made the pickle fork rules. I do not know why the SORC made the rule smaller than the MOD/Pro. funny as their meeting rooms were next to each other.
I do recall the the J committee had met and adjourned before the Pickle rule was passed.

I appoligized to anyone I offended in Region 10. I was only responding to what Bill wrote about stickers being handed out.

                2 changes don

i made 2 changes don. i made my first change that had to do with inspections before your post as the post was from my I phone and it didn't come out as i meant it to when i looked at it from home. the second was a spelling and duplication error that came out after your attack.

nice way to draw attention from the facts about safety to a guy with a who won't drink the cool-aid in region 10. sure was nice "when you didn't come on this site too much". what happened?

The fact remains that the sponson tips were found at final inspection to be illegal. What did we do? We showed our insurance carriers that our bilaws are so well written that we have loopholes to supersede safety rules that underwriters take into consideration when issuing our policies. I remember you and Eddie both not so calm a month ago when the appeal was held to the inspectors findings at grass lake. Now you act as you are satisfied and content. I'm only concerned that the slick action at the annual meeting could cost me more money to race. The bottom line is at the end of the final heat at apba inspection the tips were found to be illegal. Our own rules say the boat should be disqualified. This is a safety rule Don. We told our insurance carrier that a sticker from a local region race probably handed to George without looking at his boat closer (beacuse its been looked at for years) is enough to ignore a blatant violation at our national race.
Mr Dingman before you accuse me of cheating by having a 2012 sticker handed to me and down grading a veteran inspector for doing such a thing you should get your facts right before running your mouth. The local race you are referring to was the Mod Winter National in Tabor City NC. in April of 2012 The boat was well checked by Jeff Williams and on site were TJ, Jerry Davids , Steve Dunn and a few other well respected inspectors. For someone that wasnt at any of these events never saw the boat in question has noting to do with the A class you have an awful lot to say. Maybe you should just sit back in a recliner and watch soaps instead being on here making comments when you have no clue. Bring it on Bubba

                    Bill (Boyes),
The Stock rule was different to accomodate smaller boats & to make all boats comply rather than exempting 90% of the boats due to the "grandfather " clause.
All is moot now, the SORC adopted the Mod/Pro rule, effective some time after the Winter Nationals. For those that may not know, the minimum radius went from 1/2" to 1" and the thickness from 1/2" to 3/4". I took the grinder to my brand spankin' new boat yesterday and begin filling in the thickness today (It was a painful emotional experience).

                            Bill,

Don’t try and twist this into something else. I get it, you wrote something and regret it. You deleted it and now I’m the bad guy. That’s ok with me. Look at my signature most don’t like me and I’m ok with that.

You then change your post when you realize it may not be correct but then you want to call me out? I was only responding to what you said. Don’t be mad at me because you changed your post.

Many of us have probably wrote or said stuff we regret but maybe after you changed it you might want to post something saying you changed your position or comments and not point fingers.

But don’t try hiding behind something that you wrote then changed it and then point fingers at me.

Pat, be mad at one of your own, not me. LOL, it does look like I’m the jerk with my post after Bill changed his, but that’s ok.

Bill, I don't get the kool-aid reference as written. Are you refering to yourself as not a region 10 guys who drinks their kool-aid?

                              Hold on yourself

NEVER did I accuse you of cheating Mr Stillwell. I understand how theses things happen. We all make mistakes and that is human nature. My deleted words were trying to say that my boat has been inspected at national, divisional and region races. I can see how a boat that has been inspected several times might not be looked at as close as a brand new boat. After all, it had a 2012 sticker and probably several more.

I was in Michigan last year but didn't race myself or get to see the ASH final. Like those who voted to overturn an APBA appeal I am a member also. I have done nothing but ask how our insurance carriers are going to look at the fact that your boat was illegal at final inspection because of a safety violation yet a loophole in our bi-laws were used to allow an appellate decision concerning a safety rule to be ignored?

                              Simple question sir.

At this point in time, whether I agree with what happened from the beginning of this issue till now is a moot point. I will have to admit I thought the whole issue was over when Mr Strang ruled on it....but apparently not. This IS a member run organization....and again, if the apba bylaws state that the members have the final say on matters like this I think we need to respect it. Again, I am not saying I agree with what happened, I am saying we need to respect what happened. By the way...The Seatle Seahawks destroyed the 49 s a few months ago....but that being said I am sorta rooting for them in a perverse sorta way..aside from the fact that Jim Harbaugh is a total jackass.
