  • Sidewinder w Electric Start?

I heard through the grapevine that SW has a model that has the option of electric start.

Anybody have any pictures, info,or truth on this?

    S/W Electric Start

A prototype was on display. It looked very nice and would be an ideal way to add a few pounds to a rig. I believe Ed said they would be available within a year. I may be incorrect on that so please contact Racing Outboards for info.

Electric SW looked great! Also so did the 20SW with a MOD pipe kit!

From the picture the mod motor really looked trick.

Now this motor could be used for J and AX classes as most young racers could not start this motor after leaving the shore. Great idea!

I'll have one for my 20SW as soon as available and leave the starting ropes for the Yamato. Maybe I'll lose fewer of them now.

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

True parity is one motor per class.

                Turtle re.Starter

We had the electric start on mys Sons J boats 4 years ago .The Merc 15 requires only the starter and ring gear added along with the wiring and battery,Its nothing new.

I'm psyched about the electric start, we've been talking about it for a couple of years now. The one time my motor crapped out I had to lasso the rope plate in order to get started without sinking the boat while dealing with the plane-off wakes.

The nice thing about the electric start added to the sidewinder is that the engine
Is still around the same weight as the OMC
